It's really beautiful and makes a great sound.
Just had this pond put about 12 months ago. I'm trying to keep it as natural and safe as I can without using any chemicals. I put pond dye in which is food safe but we stopped swimming in it this summer when the weather got hot as my concern of the water getting stale and bacteria-ridden rose.I put in my electrical line myself. 110v 14 gauge at 160ft to the pond outlet. Bought the unit in May here on Amazon, it shipped fast enough. Opened it and read the manual, I found out that I had run the wrong gauge wire for that distance. Even though a licensed electrician assured me that with the voltage drop I was still way under where I would need to be to cause any harm on the unit.Round 1: Fountain 1 - Me 0I plugged it in, put it in the pond and away it went for 5 minutes then shut off. It never tripped the breaker but it would be off for about 5 minutes then start back up. So I figured it was the wire I had run, I ordered a second batch of wire in 10 gauge this time, better to be safe than sorry right?Round 2: Fountain 2 - Me 0Ripped out the old line, buried the new one. Plugged it in and exact same problem again. I was frustrated to be honest. So I called the company which to my surprise was ONLY 45 MINUTES AWAY! I had no idea when I ordered it how close they were. I told them the problem, they were very kind, they offered to replace the 12 gauge weighted cable on the unit with a 10 gauge and check it over for no cost. I brought the unit in for service.Round 3: Fountain 3 - Me 0A week later (they only were open when I was working so it was hard to schedule pickups for me) I got it back with the new cable. Brought it home, plugged it into my pond and SAME PROBLEM! At this point, I was ready to just throw in the towel and get an airstone instead.Round 4: Fountain 3 - Me 1Called, dropped it off again and they said they would float it in their test pond and give it a thorough check-up. They were busy so it was about 8+ business days out, I figured it would work for them and be some issue on my end causing the problem so I was all ready to put in for a refund but figured one more chance is deserved. They called and said it was repaired, The propeller was out of alignment. I'm assuming it was causing the unit to either overheat or just shut itself down. Picked it up and put it in the pond and it worked that time!I'm really relieved and am hoping to get many years of service out of this fountain. Even though I was super frustrated with the whole process that may have been avoided by a pond test before shipping out, Scott's was amazing with their service and you can tell they really stand by their fountains. If shipping back to the company was involved I would have just returned it because it's so massive. This is a unique story from an amazon purchase because I just happened to live so close to the company that built it.
